The Social Sutra cafe has been in Werribee for a reasonably long time now with a few different incarnations. So does Social Sutra continue to deliver?
Social Sutra has a nice modern clean contemporary look although it's probably a bit more sterile than hipster than is desired. It also has some nice outdoor street bleachers if that is the right terminology for outdoor dining if the weather suits.

There are probably three great features of Social Sutra. The first is the ecletic and quite cool menu they have. From all the typical cafe brunch food such as eggs benny, smashed avo stack, big brekkie, zucchini and sweet potato fritters they also have a more diverse menu.
This includes an updated special menu that included beef brisket quesadilla and beef wagyu lasagne when we were there. As well Social Sutra's standard menu includes items such as philly steak sandwich, Korean fried chicken burger, pulled lamb salad, chicken karrage and a select childrens menu. In Other words they have an extensive menu that also stands out from the crowd.

The second Social Sutra stand-out feature is their amazing pricing. This is some of the most competitive and value pricing you will find in Werribee for it's generally excellent quality. In other words you definitely don't feel like you are breaking the bank coming to Socail Sutra. The value is compelling as you don't feel like you are in anyway downgrading yourself dining at Social Sutra.

The third great feature of Social Sutra is that they offer an extensive selection of alcoholic beverages at again very compelling prices. It's really nice to have a nice beer or wine with your meal if you feel in the mood.

Social Sutra is generally a great cafe experience with probably it's weakest feature is that it doesn't have any coolness or hipsterish feel and at least when we were there wasn't too busy so lacked a bit of atmosphere. However don't let put you off.

In a nutshell
Social Sutra is an attractive looking cafe although perhaps is a bit generic. However its great and extensive menu, budget friendly pricing, alcoholic beverage selection and food quality make this a highly recommended cafe. The biggest letdown may be its lack of vibe if that is important to you.

Location
Social Sutra is located at 169 Watton St, Werribee VIC 3030. This is on the main shopping and dining street in Werribee so is very easy to find.

Werribee Restaurant and Cafe Review

Italian Sports Club of Werribee
The Italian Sports Club of Werribee is a favourite. Good value pub and Italian food you can enjoy time and time again without breaking the bank. Look out also for special events such a live music entertainment, comedians and more.

Wolf On Watton
Wolf On Watton is a trendy and attractive looking cafe. The super-extensive alcoholic drinks selection plus the outside booths are what make Wolf on Watton unique. It's not our favourite cafe but never the less its still a great addition to the Watton high street.

Gami Chicken and Beer
Gami Chicken and Beer is workmanlike Korean food. It's great to have Korean fried chicken available locally and it sure beats making it yourself. Gami Chicken and Beer is nicely setup and has relatively unique decor inside however overall the food is average rather than exceptional. For a franchise business though everythings good.

Mama Mee
Mama Mee is one of our all time favourite restaurants in the outer west. It serves an all time great seafood curry laksa, has an extensive Malaysia and Chinese themed menu, includes some of the best decor and has generally some of the best service going round. Highly recommended if you live in Hoopers Crossing, Werribee, Wyndham Vale or Tarneit.

Sprinkles
Sprinkles is a multi-coloured rainbow in a world of turmoil. Treat yourself to the delights of ice-creams, lollies, sweets and treats at Sprinkles and brighten up your day. Highly recommended.

Indo Eats
Indo Eats is a workmanlike Indonesian restaurant in Werribee. It fulfils its mandate for this kind of restaurant. They have a huge selection of food and drinks to choose from, have made an effort both with its interior and the presentation of their drinks and generally the food is pretty good without being exceptional.

Sushi Jiro
Sushi Jiro is an attractive looking Japanese diner and takeaway. It's a great place to enjoy with friends, select your favourites dishes and experience a sushi train experience in the outer western suburbs. I wouldn't say the food is exceptional but its definitely worth coming here purely for the sushi train and it looks kinda cool as well.

Mama Lor
Mama Lor is one of the best restaurants in Werribee. From great modern distinctive interior design, an extensive selection of unique and great tasting Filipino cuisine, to freshly baked cakes and breads and a great vibe as they continue to be one of the busiest restaurants in Werribee, Mama Lor is definitely recommended.

The Bridge Hotel
The Bridge Hotel is great for what it is. It has a large outside drinking area for those inclined (perrect for balmy nights and afternoons), very fair pricing and it provides exactly the experience you expect in the tradition of great Australian pubs.

Ghazal
Buffets are an acquired taste. Anyway, Ghazal is definitely worth it if you love buffets but for the rest of us Ghazal is probably pleasant enough without feeling overly special.

Augustus Gelatery
Perfect place for a lovely gelati when the Melbourne weather obliges.

Little Growling Café
Little Growling Cafe may not appear to be the most trendy cafe going around. However the food is very well presented and looks special on the plate, the food tastes great, it's popular so there is a bit of a vibe (at least in the weekends) and it has a super duper playground for the kids. While really for locals if you live close enough, are looking for somewhere new to eat and have children this may be worth a look.
