What's on in Melbourne and the West this weekend 2-4 June? Yarraville Winter Festival, games night in Tarneit, Sea Shepherd Day for the Oceans in Williamstown, World Environment Day and tree planting in SUnshine West, great eats at Grazeland in Spotswood and EziStreat in North Melbourne and lots more. As it's the first weekend of the month there are plenty of markets on. For one of the best regional markets get out to the Gisborne Olde Time Market. One of the best markets in all of Victoria.

Help revegetate the site with groundcovers, wildflowers and shrubs to create a flourishing habitat for local wild life. Sea Shepherd’s Day for The Ocean (Williamstown)

Sea Shepherd’s Day for The Ocean (Sunday 4th June, 9:00am to 12:00pm), Williamstown is an exciting event where you can join an onshore crew and take action cleaning up your local beach. After the beach cleanup, there will be talks, music, merchandise, baked goods, kids activities all available in the centre of Williamstown at the Rotunda in Commonwealth Reserve.

B-24 Liberator Visits to the Aircraft Hangar. Great if you love planes and aircraft! Admission is only a $10 donation per person. Attendance at an engine run is an extra $10. Restoration work visit. No entry charge for visitors under 16 years of age.

Eynesbury Heritage Trail Junior Parkrun

Eynesbury Heritage Trail Junior Parkrun (FREE). Free weekly 2km event that takes place at 8AM every Sunday morning in the Eynesbury forest and is open to 4 to 14-year-olds. Supervised by a team of volunteers who all hold current Working With Childrens Checks. Please register ahead of the run. Refer to website.

Car Torque (Altona)

If you love classic cars and a local community feel then this monthly event might be right for you.


CAR TORQUE is a regular get together on the FIRST SUNDAY of every Month at the Hobsons Bay Men's Shed, 280 Queen St Altona, gates open 8.30am close 3pm.

Visitors are welcome, especially owners of classic vehicles or motorbikes to display and join in with Car Torque members and have a yarn.


BBQ and egg and bacon rolls, tea, coffee, water and soft drinks available.


Bring the family and the dog, enjoy the day, see some great vehicles. Shed tours are available - just ask politely!

The Altona Homestead provides visitors of all ages the opportunity to take a step back in time. The Altona Homestead is located at at 128 Queen Street, Altona, overlooking Logan Reserve and very close to the Altona foreshore and pier. The homestead is a unique and treasured part of Altona’s heritage.
