The Little Red Apple, is a roadside shop in Barkers Creek between Castlemaine and Harcourt, Central Victoria, that specialises in selling locally grown fruits and vegetables, with a particular emphasis on locally grown apples and pears.
The Little Red Apple is a perfect place to stop to pick up a few groceries, small goods, delicatessen cheeses, pickles, treats, jams, cakes, fresh local produce and of course their famous apple and pear ciders and apple juice.
The Little Red Apple is a surprisingly busy little grocery shop. At least in the weekends all the produce seemed really fresh and being the home of local Harcourt apples it makes sense to pick up some apples while you are here as well.
TIP: Returning back to Melbourne via a final pitstop at The Little Red Apple makes perfect sense as you can enjoy a last minute bit of shopping as well as avoid the super slow 50km road through Chewton. Perfect, you have another reason to visit the Little Red Apple!
