Generally speaking Gogo's Cafe and Bar is an attractive looking cafe with patio space both out front and out back for customers when Macedon's weather obliges. The signage and general exterior make Gogo's an enticing spot. Inside it's all pretty nice but I guess the shape of the dining area makes it feel slightly restricted. It's not Gogo's fault per se it's just the physical dimensions don't fit a cafe 100%. Gogo's make do with the physical design so it's all good.

All up, Gogo's is typical of many cafe's these days it's neither exceptional nor poor. It's understandable given I klnow it is so expensive to run a business in Australia. It seems it's getting gradually more and more difficult to find dining establishments that truly stand out from the crowd. Gogo's is definitely still worth a visit, the service was good as was the food. It's more of a case that it doesn't really have a unique selling point to make it a special memory.

More than Mount Macedon Road

Gogo's is a good spot if you've already run out of spots to visit on Mount Macedon Road. If you are like me I have habitually driven up Mount Macedon Road and never really ventured into the town of Macedon. There's not much there but I am thankful for a few more dining spots. After a few visits to Macedon if you always drive up Mount Macedon Road you are basically limited to the same two or three spots. By going into Macedon town centre you can eat at Gogo's or Mr Macedon Cafe.

One of my favourite things about food stops is that you never quite know where the conversation will go. It reminds me of a wine tasting at Taltarni Vineyard where a simple Metallica tshirt turned into a chat about music, Grenache and local festivals. That is the beauty of regional Victoria. A cafe visit is not just about the coffee or the food. It can be the little human moment that makes the whole outing feel unique.
