Mt. Atkinson Market at Edmund Rice Community Hub, 121-179 Greigs Road, Truganina, 3029 is a welcoming local market that perfectly captures the friendly, community-focused spirit of Melbourne’s west.
From the moment you arrive, there’s a relaxed, upbeat atmosphere that makes it easy to slow down, have a wander, and enjoy being out and about in the neighbourhood.
New and Improved: Now in it's new location Mt. Atkinson Market has more stalls, a more community feel, stalls indoors in two buildings to offer all weather shopping (all important during our Victorian winter and windy spring) and some live entertainment. I say it's vastly improved!
What really stands out at Mt. Atkinson Market is the family friendly vibe. There’s plenty of space to stroll, chat, and relax, making it an easy outing for couples, families, and groups of friends alike. It’s not rushed or overwhelming just a comfortable, easygoing place.
Watch the weather: This is both an outdoor and indoor market so keep that in mind. Yes, lots of stalls are still exposed to the elements.
This is a perfect market to visit if you are at loose ends and want something to keep the kids interested. If you live in Aintree, the western side of Caroline Springs, Tarneit, Eynesbury (you've already got your own fantastic market) or Rockbank this may be perfect to fill in some down time on your Sunday morning or afternoon.
Come along in the late morning or early afternoon to enjoy fresh food and sweet treats, local makers and small businesses, a relaxed, family friendly atmosphere. This is a casual market and isn't overly commercialised. In a way it feels a bit old-school and we have no problem with that. In fact that is one of its charms!
Overall, Mt. Atkinson Market is a lovely example of how local markets bring people together. With its friendly atmosphere, quality stalls, and strong community feel the kids and adults alike love it.
