Laverton Market

The Laverton Market is a popular market popular with local residents held every Saturday and Sunday. That makes it very easy to remember!

Still the Laverton Market is busy every weekend and seemingly very popular although I live locally and only go maybe once a year. However to keep the kids happy this is a great place as you shoud be able to pick something up very cheap.

Primarily a second hand market with lots of bric-a-brac and plenty of tools and plants. It's not so great for the artisan type products.

The market pretty much sells everything and is super busy. It's a market that doesn't really have a unique character but it serves its purpose well. The food establishments have really improved over recent times with an increase in variety, quality and appearance. Well done to see improvements to the market.

As the Laverton Market is on every weekend and on both Saturday and Sunday it makes getting to the market easy. A definite plus point and makes a perfect visit if you are at a loose end during the weekend.

Be aware o the weather: The Laverton Market is both an indoor and outdoor market. Of course if it's raining your visit will be a bit limited but keep a watch for those super sunny days as well. When it's hot it can be a real challenge visiting the outdoor stalls. The Melbourne sun can be unrelenting every now and then.
