MacKenzie Falls is a must see on your trip to Grampians National Park and one of the largest waterfalls in Victoria. As the only waterfall in the Grampians that flows all year round this is a perfect waterfall to visit in the summer months.
The walk to Mackenzie Falls is 2km and the hike should take around 1.25 hrs to complete. The walk starts and ends at the MacKenzie Falls car park.
Although the walk to Mackenzie Falls is only 2km it is quite steep at times so care must be taken. Keep in mind whether you are able to walk up and down steep sections and don't mind walking up and down steps.
The view at the end of the Mackenzie Falls walk is spectacular. A fine spray of mist flys high into the air above the gorge, water cascades over the huge cliff edge and plummets into the pool below. The mist and roar of the water adds to the atmosphere as you take in the gorgeous view from the base of the waterfall. Even if it's a bit crowded try and take in the atmosphere and majesty of this waterfall.
The Mackenzie Falls definitely should be included as a must see component to a trip to the Grampians and is essential if you are only ever visiting the Grampians once.
