Bromley & Co Gallery in Daylesford is a captivating art space known for showcasing the works of David Bromley, a renowned Australian artist. His iconic artwork, including ceramics and sculptures, are prominently featured. Visitors can expect to see a blend of contemporary and traditional styles, with a focus on vibrant colors and bold textures.
The Bromley & Co Gallery is long and narrowish at the start and then opens to an expansive warehouse type space at the rear. The narrowish section of the art gallery acts like an entree with smaller pieces of art being showcased only hinting at the warehouse area at the back.
David Bromley's art is often showcased on homeware which obviously is quite small in scale. It is nice to see his art at full size to fully appreciate his style, sense of humour and show off his art in the way the artist intended.
While David Bromley is commonly known for his distinctive paintings the Bromley & Co Gallery also showcases many of his sculptures.
The art of David Bromley will obviously rotate but at least while we were there his sculptures highlighted a childlike sense of humour, his own sense of style and a distinctiveness that is both contemporary and having in our eyes wideranging consumer appeal.
Too many people David Bromley's artwork is probably synonymous with his appreciation of the female form. Of course this is subjective but the female form does make up a prominant subset of his artwork. You will most probably get to see quite a lot of such types of artwork while you visit the gallery.
Arguably David's artwork of the female form has a slight pop-art touch with small callback's to artwork of women in Shanghai 1920's. That's about all for my historic knowledge of artwork but that's what I see.
A distinctive part of the warehouse is the large indoor firepit. Quite the sight although I can imagine put to good affect in the cold winter months in Daylesford.
This particular piece of art was perfectly placed in the galleries front window. A great signature piece without having to be sensationalist to attract your attention.
