Long Story Short is a classic second hand shop specialising in all things good! Okay I jest but if you love checking out second hand vinyl, retro clothes and books then this may just be the place for you.

Don't miss out: Blink and you'll miss it, it may be tempting to walk on by rather than make your way indoors and up the stairway. Well, don't miss out and just do it! There really isn't a comparable shop in Kyneton so this is the place to go to if this is your kind of thing. I'm a sucker for vinyl and music shops so there was no way I was gonna miss out Long Story Short.

Long Story Short really does have quite the selection for a seemingly small place. Think Tardis and Dr Who comes to mind. Okay this isn't a ginormous shop but all things considered Long Story Short manages to pack a lot into what initially appears to be a small shop.

For this kind of shop I like that it is both cosy and welcoming yet tidy and clean at the same time. That may seem like a funny observation but after you've been to a few of these places some can be a bit dusty and musty! Long Story Short is neither of those things yet still has the classic vibe of this kind of store. I like it.

You'll come across quite a good size collection of books to look through. Not really my major interest. We all have our own particular likes and dislikes and I know some people can spend hours looking through a bookstore.

There's also a smallish room housing apparently 60's and 70's stuff and you coluld encounter anything from clothes, shoes and boots, ties, belts, bags and more. It's all rather ecletic and constantly changing and that's what's great about these kind of shops.

There's a a much larger room that focusses on all things music. Yay my particular interest. Anyway, there is quite a good selection of vinyl to go through, cd's, posters and prints and a few magazines.
Curio: I had a quick scan through that first NME dated 13 August 1983. Can you believe there was an article on a young Peter Capaldi. If you don't know what I'm talking about he played in 12th Doctor Who from 2013–2017. Yeah, always something interesting in these stores.

Anyway, for me at least this room is definitely the highlight so if you are a vinyl fiend then make sure to make your way to Long Story Short.

I love going around these types of stores as you never know what you will find. You can also come again and again as stock is always changing.

Location
The Long Story Short is located upstairs at 58 Piper St, Kyneton VIC 3444 a 1 minute trip from Kyneton town centre.
In A Nutshell
Definitely worth seeking out and a rummage if you like these kind of stores. For those with a personality dis-order and can't stop buying more vinyl or aquiring yet another book here's your store!
