The Trentham Falls are a 5 minute drive away or just over 3km from Trentham town centre. Essentially there is a viewing lookout from the left bank looking towards Trentham Falls.
Trentham Falls does actually look quite nice and is easily accessible to pretty much anybody from the viewing platform. While the Trentham Falls are actually quite pretty the enjoyment factor is somewhat diminished by the crowds of people at the viewing platform. I suggest if you want a bit of peace and quiet and being able to enjoy the Trentham Falls properly to try and arrive early morning. Otherwise be prepared for a somewhat underwhelming and crowded experience.
Don't expect to be able to do a proper hike at Trentham Falls. Because the carpark pretty much directly leads to the viewing platform and is only about 2-3 minutes from the carpark this is perfect for the tourist who just wants a picture. You can kind of walk down to the bottom of the falls but it is discouraged and not really set up that way.
