The Mount Leura and Mount Sugarloaf is really a walk and/or summit lookout for completists. Personally I wouldn't really seek out this walk in it's own right. However, as a pitstop on a longer journey back to Melbourne from Warrnambool, Port Fairy or Port Campbell then it makes a lot more sense. And for a person like me who wants to see and do everything then that's why I'm here.

The main reason to come to Mount Leura and Mount Sugarloaf is too get to the summit and enjoy the panoramic views from here. I wouldn't call the view from the summit outstanding but a view is a view. Essentially you get to see Camperdown and overlooking farmland.

Mt Leura and Mt Sugarloaf are formed from former volcanoes. The reserve contains signposts outlining the history of the area and the development of the volcanoes. Victoria is actually dotted with quite a lot of now dormant volcanoes. It's worth investigating if you are into that kind of thing and will make you go exploring more of Victoria.
