Sweet Decadence Cafe truly lives up to its name! Nestled in the picturesque town of Daylesford, this gem offers a delightful escape from the everyday. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with the comforting aroma of fresh coffee and the beautiful sight of their array of premium handmade individual chocolates.
Sweet Decadence is definitely a compact cafe and it does get tight and cosy when customer numbers get up. Sweet Decadence is a blend of cozy and old-school, making it ideal for both casual catch-ups and special occasions. By old-school I mean the dark brownish toned colour scheme but given we are talking about chocolate it does all make sense!
You can tell what I mean by cozy as Sweet Decadence is quite a narrow cafe.
For chocolate lovers there is a huge array of individual chocolates to choose from and many customers do delight in selecting their favourites. You have everything from pistachio, cherry and almond, rose truffle, lemon truffle, milkshake, hazlenut and almond, prosecco truffle, whisky truffle, dark caramel, pineapple dark chocolate slice. In other words you have quite the selection.
Handmade Chocolates with History
Sweet Decadence at Locanto is Daylesford's first coffee house and is known for its decadent chocolate, fine coffee, signature scones and light meals. The chocolates are handmade on site with Sweet Decadence now having more than 30 years of history in chocolate making. A testament to enduring quality and standing the test of time.
I love trying out chilli hot chocolate whenever I go to a chocolate shop. Sadly Sweet Decadence doesn't have chilli hot chocolate but does have an admirable fill-in with their peppermint hot chocolate. This is perhaps a better option as people don't have to worry about the chilli being too hot!
The range of light meals at Sweet Decadence perhaps isn't their strong point but their pricing is definitely great. I have a feeling Sweet Decadence has made a point of keeping their cafe food prices as low as possible to be family friendly and I applaud them for this. It makes it great for both locals and day-trippers alike.
The family friend feel extends to some of the chocolates you can buy. Some of the options seem very child oriented that I think is great for a holiday destination that will definitely have lots of families coming through at certain times of the year.
Sweet Decadence definitely has it's own unique charm.
The main reason to come to Sweet Decadence in our book remain the homemade chocolates and the coffee.
