Witchmount Estate Winery

Witchmount Winery, located in Plumpton, Victoria, stands out as a premier destination for wine lovers and event seekers alike. Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by the picturesque vineyards that stretch as far as the eye can see, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.

Multifaceted venue: Witchmount Estate is a multifaceted venue being a wedding or special events venue and having both a separate restaurant and wine-tasting areas. To cap it off, the restaurant and wine-tasting venues have different operating hours over long weekends. Just be aware of this if going to the restaurant and thinking you'll also be able to do a bit of wine-tasting.

Wine Tasting: The winery prides itself on producing a diverse range of high-quality wines, with their Shiraz being a standout favorite among patrons. Each tasting offers a journey through Witchmount's dedication to viticulture and winemaking, guided by knowledgeable staff who are passionate about sharing their love for wine.

Sadly we were fooled by Witchmount's tricky opening hours and couldn't do the wine-tasting. That will have to wait for another day but at least we got to try out their restaurant!

Restaurant: The ambiance at Witchmount Winery is both elegant and welcoming, making it an ideal setting for a day trip or a special occasion. The on-site restaurant serves up delectable dishes that perfectly complement the wines, with ingredients sourced locally to ensure freshness and support for the community.

The Witchmount Estate Restaurant offers what feels like a semi cut-down menu as the Wedding and Event function and the wine-tasting functions seem to be more of a focus. The restaurant area is nice enough although we were perhaps expecting something that would feel a bit grander.

Still the Witchmount Estate pricing is quite fair so we still think it offers pretty good value and it's nice to check out Witchmount rather than just driving past all the time.

At the rear of the main dining area you can go outside in what feels a bit more like an outside bar area that overlooks the vineyards. On a hot day this might just be a better spot than the restaurant itself for a spot of bubbly or a cold beer.

If you are not planning a special event it's nice coming to Witchmount just to check it out. We all have our own expectations of what a wedding venue will look like so it's nice to see Witchmount in real life.

It's worth having a good wander around Witchmount Estate to see what you are missing out on or even just to appreciate the country feel and ambiance of the vineyard itself.

Hopefully the business in the restaurant area will pick up as it's such a great location and its nice to feel a little special every now and then.

In A Nutshell

We have only been to the restaurant and will update once we've been to a wine-tasting. However, we believe that the restaurant experience isn't bad but definitely not spectacular. What it does have in it's favour is fair pricing and curiosity value to view Witchmount Estate itself in the flesh. If you've always driven past it's probably worth coming here at least once, preferably when the wine-tasting is open as well (assuming you like wine!).
