Double Oaks Estate, nestled within the Macedon Ranges, epitomizes a sanctuary for pleasure-seekers. This unique venue is not just a winery but also a truffle farm, complemented by American-style BBQ, all under the stewardship of Travis and Kristy Chehab.
The Lancefield vineyard, established in 1980, originally cultivated Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon, with the later decision to focus on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and remove the Meunier and Shiraz.
Acquired by the Chehabs in 2016, their combined expertise in science and hospitality has proven invaluable as they ventured into the world of winemaking. Their offerings are known for exceptional value, producing wines that are equally enjoyable on their own or as a complement to a meal.
Truffles: After two years of meticulous planning, the Chehabs established a 5-acre truffle orchard in 2019, cultivating Winter Black Truffles beneath the saplings of French oak trees. Truffle hunting adventures are set to begin in 2024!
A Bright Future: The Lancefield vineyard is currently expanding, with the thrilling inclusion of Gruner Veltliner (Austrian) and Saperavi (Georgian) varieties. With the recent acquisition of 20 acres in Heathcote, Double Oaks Estate is set to broaden its range, offering an enhanced diversity of wines across two distinguished Australian wine-producing areas.
