The Cascades are in fact a perfect picnic area with multiple picnic tables provided along the main ridge above The Cascades. However when we say perfect we actually mean enjoying your picnic closer to The Cascades and walking down closer to the banks of the Coliban River or having your picnic on some of the rocks. The picnic tables themselves are convenient but ultimately don't have the best views and you are somewhat removed from the beauty and sound of the Coliban.

Having a Wander: The Cascades isn't really a walk as such. It's more of an area to scramble around and walk over the rocks in the many directions they take you. I am sure the kids will have great fun walking around just be careful trying to cross The Cascades as some of the pools are quite deep. More importantly any rocks that have water running over them are surprisingly slippery. In other words take your time if trying to cross any water and if there has been any amount of recent rain then be extra careful.
