What makes Carter Smith Devlin & Co. stand out from the crowd is its lovely fireplace for the winter months, the exterior facade and cool choice of font. It is kind of designer cool as you walk past and begs you to walk in.
Carter Smith Devlin & Co. decor is nice with relatively open space with high ceilings, dark wooden tables and slightly lighter brown chairs and brick walls. It all feels kind of organic especially with the fireplace keeping the place warm.
While Carter Smith Devlin & Co. looks kinda cool I wouldn't say that the food or menu screams designer or hipster in any way. It's generally typical cafe food that you find across Melbourne. Nothing wrong with that as its a cafe afterall.
Personally while Carter Smith Devlin & Co. looks nice from the outside, the overall experience once you enter is only okay. While it is no way bad it doesn't really make you want to come again anytime soon. It just lacks some kind of X factor.
