Teru Japanese Eatery, in Altona North is a real treat and one of our favorite Japanese eateries in the Western suburbs.
Teru Japanese Eatery is tiny so if you come at a busy time getting a seat may be problematic. Teru Japanese Eatery is kinda a takeaway dressed up as a very small cafe or restaurant. However, takeaway standard food this is not. The food here is exceptional! Just be aware that Teru are providing high quality over quantity.
Teru Japanese Eatery does Japanese food proud with fantastic presentation that wouldn't be out of place in a more exclusive inner Melbourne location. In other words this place is special!
If we were local residents of Altona North I could imagine coming here very often. We don't give out this kind of praise that often but rest assured if you like Japanese food Teru definitely delvers. The people of Altona North are very lucky.
We like that there is a small selection of Japanese beverages here to add to the Japanese feel of the place.
If anything is a letdown it's that this place is so small and cramped and slightly generic in design. However all is forgiven in our books by the exceptional food that Teru Japanese Eatery is delivering. If only every Japanese food establishment was this good.

The words a hidden gem seem a bit of a cliché however I'd walked past Pier 71 multiple times thinking it looked average. Anyway, when we finally visited we had a grat surprise to find something a bit special.

Tina's Dumpling House
Quality Chinese in the suburbs. Often times Chinese restaurants out of the CBD can be a bit average. We are happy to report that Tina's Dumplings bucks this trend and is pretty good and worthy of repeat visits. We like it!

It's a café serving excellent Japanese food a cut above the average and well above many in Melbourne CBD. It's small and pretty basic on the inside but the food is superb.

Birdcage Altona Café
The Birdcage Altona Cafe is a winner. One of the best cafes going in the West. Fantastic food that also looks divine! Well worth the effort driving here if you are looking for a new café to try.

Hecho En Mexico
It's a chain store but that doesn't mean it can't be great. Yes, we love the vibes, the vibrant colours, fun and the food. Plus it's pretty good value as well.
