Rolling into Blue Pyrenees Estate felt like a deep breath after a big week. I am a mid forties mum who never travels without a camera and two curious kids aged ten and eight. The wide sky and vine rows lit up my inner photographer while Tommy our Labrador trotted beside us on the grass and gave the welcome sniff of approval.
>With a little playlist love from Taylor Swift and Blur the scene was set for a calm country tasting that already felt golden. Rocking out to "Bugman" or "Song 2" from Blur definitely makes a contrast to Taylor!

At the cellar door the team poured with care and the chat flowed just like talking with my besties. We talked music and local growers and I picked up fresh tips on how grenache and tempranillo differ compared to my favs Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. I am a self confessed featherweight wine drinker quantity wise but do love big reds. The reds at Blue Pyrenees Estate carry fine spice and length that makes them a winner with me.
Halliday Wine Companion winner: Blue Pyrenees Estate is a constant Halliday Wine Companion winner so make sure to treat yourself to something special while you are here. If you aren't a local you really should make the most of it as getting here isn't necessarily the easiest due to it's distance away from Melbourne. Trying before you buy means you are pretty much guaranteed something exceptional.

I love real cellar door conversations. Supporting regional makers while learning on the go always feels like a weekend win.

Blue Pyrenees Estate is my kind of country escape. Calm views thoughtful wines kind service and space to wander with a camera and a happy dog are a gamechanger for any Avoca trip. If you love discovering new flavours and leaving with stories to tell this cellar door deserves a spot on your list. I left planning the next visit and smiling about the memories we will pour later at home.
