There will be lots of light installations to peak your interest and these include:

  • ChronoHarp by Amigo & Amigo: An entirely new instrument of light and color has graced the heart of Wyndham Park, inviting you to craft beautiful tunes with its radiant presence.
  • Trumpet Flowers by Amigo & Amigo: Shrink down to a miniature scale beneath the luminous trumpet flowers and contribute to the harmonious melodies that fill the air.
  • Birdsong by Skunk Control: Stroll along the nature trail and encounter the exquisite sculptural birds that have gathered to form a choir, not only to protect local species but also to offer solace to the community. Listen closely; do they bear a hidden message?
  • Bloom by The Indirect Object: Find tranquility amidst gentle, soft pink inflatable gumnuts and flowers that invite you to recline and appreciate their delicate allure.
  • Ursula Lassos The Moon by Studio Vertigo: Witness an ethereal, swirling glowing moon, plucked from the celestial expanse by a rope lasso, a creation by UK artists that will leave you in awe.
  • Night Parrots by Chalk River Labs: Immerse yourself in the hypnotic, kaleidoscopic light that washes over the colossal night parrots, once believed to be extinct. And prepare to be amazed by the transformation of the park's iconic rocket ship; you've never seen it like this before!
  • Cosmic Reverie by Teeny Fletcher: Join Werribee artist Teeny Fletcher on a mesmerizing journey from dusk to dawn through a dreamy, glowing light walk that captivates the imagination.
  • Nocturnal Neighbourhood by Christie Widarto: As night descends, the nocturnal neighborhood of animals awakens to play! Keep an eye out for endangered species like the Eastern Barred Bandicoot, the Fat-tailed Dunnart, and the Barking Owl, as they come to life in this nocturnal symphony.

The LIT festival is pretty grand in scale so it does make spectacular viewing. This scale is also great as you definitely don't feel let down in any way and makes for plenty of wandering around.

The LIT Festival isn't really out eating at food stalls like lots of other festivals so if you are looking for a meal we suggest having dinner beforehand or supporting one of the local eateries and making a full night of it.

The LIT Festival is definitely one of our favourite festivals. There is something very special about this festival as unlike the White Nights festival in Melbourne CBD the LIT festival is still something we still look forward to and doesn't seem to wear thin.
