Review: Laksa King (Newmarket)

Laksa King Newmarket Melbourne

Laksa King is an institution in Newmarket and has stood the test of time. Great for a curry laksa they have plenty to choose from. Try the fishhead curry laksa for something different.

Laksa King appears a bit rundown from the outside but still serves a great curry laksa. The temperature of the food could be a bit hotter but the flavour is great and the servings are generous.

Laksa King has an extensive menu so if laksa isn't your thing you still have plenty of other Malaysian and Singapore styled dishes to choose from.

Laksa King has a one hour time limit so you may feel a bit rushed. Keep this in mind before you go and as a successful and very busy business you may have a waiting time to get a table. It's a testament to Laksa King's greatness that they have stood the test of time and passing fads and are still as busy as ever.

In a nutshell

Laksa King is a likeable restaurant with a still great curry laksa. The appearance from the restaurant could do with a bit of a makeover and the one hour time limit is a bit annoying. However the food is still great, the servings are generous and being busy means there is always a vibrancy at Laksa King.
