Read our review of the Ballarat Foto Biennale 2023. If you love photography or art in general this is a great event. We went in the weekend and had a great time. You can just go to the free photography or go all in and buy festival tickets. It's up to you.
Our recommendation is that if you put more effort in you get more reward. So even if you start to get selective we suggest that you continue to go to as many of the venues as possible. For the technical person you can check the festival guide and mark the venues you want to visit. Personally we just like to go with the flow and wander the streets until we see the Ballarat Foto Biennale signs outside all the different shops and venues and then just enter.
